Reading kits

A book, a folder, a pencil, and a fifteen-page activity booklet — built for kindergarten through fourth grade.

Each kit was organised around one figure in Hispanic American life and paired a biography with worksheets covering reading comprehension, beginning sounds, vocabulary, cursive practice, writing prompts, a puppet activity, and geography, science or music. L4LL published kits for César Chávez and Dolores Huerta, for Celia Cruz and for Pura Belpré, plus a collection of all three.

They were sold to fund the free programmes. Nothing is for sale here — the prices, the cart and the checkout went with the site. The books themselves are still in print and any library or bookshop can find them.
