“The power of identification — seeing yourself reflected in the world around you.” That was L4LL's stated reason for featuring only books written or illustrated by Hispanic creators in every programme it ran.
The Living List of Latino Authors and Illustrators was kept as a running record, added to continually, “to recognize their influence and contributions to the American literary canon.” It named, among others:
